Award-Winning Actress and Broadway Performer

Carmichael native and El Camino graduate Kate Levering Jahangiri is a celebrated actress, singer, and dancer whose career has spanned Broadway stages and television screens. She began performing locally with Music Circus and earned her Actors’ Equity card before graduating high school. By 21, she had a Tony nomination and had won the Fred Astaire Award for Best Female Dancer for her breakout role as Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street.

Kate’s Broadway credits include The Life, The Music Man, Annie Get Your Gun, and Thou Shalt Not. On television, she starred in Drop Dead Diva and appeared in Law & Order, CSI: Miami, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Like Dandelion Dust. After a 15-year theater hiatus, she returned home in 2014 to perform in A Chorus Line at Music Circus.

Today, Kate lives in Newport Beach with her husband Reza and their two sons, focused on raising her family while remaining connected to the arts.
